Presbyterian Urban Ministries Annual Golf Tournament

Calendar Event Description

To benefit the charitable work of Presbyterian Urban Ministries in 2007, the Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church Board of Deacons helped sponsor a golf tournament fund raiser. The event was an immediate hit and began what is now an annual charity awareness and fund-raising tradition. Past golfers have had so much fun, they register for the next tournament a year in advance!

In 2009, the third annual golf tournament planning committee named the event Golf4Good. Tournament registration reached its maximum for the first time, the event included a putting contest with a $10,000 cash prize, and net proceeds increased by 56% over those of 2008.

Corporate donors sponsor contests at various holes along the golf course in exchange for name recognition and logo visibility during the tournament. Individuals and businesses also donate goods and services upon which guests bid in an auction between the tournament end the start of the awards dinner.

The annual golf tournament committee raises the bar each year in its long-range planning strategy to raise $100,000 per tournament by the year 2012.

All proceeds benefit Presbyterian Urban Ministries.
