One of nine standing committees that reported to the Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church Session, the Congregational Life Committee consisted of church elders, deacons, and members at-large who worked together to plan, promote, and execute events in which the entire congregation could participate.
Two annual favorites included the St. Patrick's Day Dinner in March and the Ice Cream Social in July. The themes of one or two other annual congregational events changed from year to year, in order to reflect contemporary trends.
Through the years, church membership grew, demographics changed, and the Board of Deacons began to introduce new congregational events, such as Deacons' Annual Cookies, Cocoa & Carols and the Deacons' Annual Congregational Picnic. In the spring of 2009, the Congregational Life Committee announced that it would disband, but its members would remain available to help facilitate church events executed by other committees and groups. Later in the same year, the former committee members retired from event service altogether.
