Women's Ministries
Women Ages 20 and Older
"No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us."
I John 4:12
The women of Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church look for opportunities to make and strengthen friendships among themselves in the groups described on this page. All our women's groups welcome guests to safe and trustworthy environments in which everyone can share experiences, knowledge . . . and acceptance.
Community Bible Study
Now entering its seventh year in Coronado, Community Bible Study enables a wide variety of interdenominational Coronado women to gather together each week to dig into God’s Word and grow in faith via in-depth study of Scripture, answering study questions at home, engaging in small-group discussion and fellowship, and sitting in on large-group lecture.
Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church will host the 2008–9 season while St. Paul’s Methodist Church undergoes renovation. This year's study will include I and II Peter, Daniel, and Colossians.

Evening Circle
This group tailored itself to career women and empty-nesters whose frequent flying interrupts ability to attend weekly meetings. At their convenience for three weeks, these intellectually ambitious members read eloquent and often-humorous works by savvy contemporary authors. At month’s end, the group convenes to exchange new insight over dinner.
In 2008, the group shared a transformational pilgrimage vicariously through Bruce Feiler’s entertaining travelogue Walking the Bible: A Journey by Land Through the Five Books of Moses.
The 2009-10 season interactive book study is The Remarkable Women of the Bible: And Their Message for Your Life Today by Elizabeth George. Study of a new book will begin in September 2010.

Friendship Circle
Female friendship, fellowship, fun, and philanthropy. Committees rotate responsibility for refreshments, devotional, and program for each meeting.
Every year, members select and sponsor a community ministry. In the spring and at Christmas, the Friendship Circle joins forces with the Women’s Coordinating Team to plan and co-host two festive events for all the women in the congregation.

Women's Coordinating Team
The Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church Thrift Cottage sells quality used clothing and small household goods and gives the cash receipts to the Women’s Coordinating Team—a group of smart women who decide how to divide the money among several church ministries and missions.
The team responds to requests for outreach, decides how to spend Thrift Cottage income, oversees and funds the Evening Circle and the Friendship Circle, funds and awards church-member college scholarships, donates to the Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church Endowment Fund and to Presbyterian Women.
Twice a year, the team hosts fellowship events for all women church members and guests: one in spring and an annual Christmas social in December.
